Web-Analytics.ai ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. What We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide our service:

• Account information: Your email address and name when you sign up.
• Analytics data: Aggregated website metrics (visitor counts, page views, traffic sources, etc.) pulled from your connected analytics platforms via their official APIs. We never collect or store individual visitor data, IP addresses, or personally identifiable information about your website's visitors.
• OAuth tokens: Encrypted access and refresh tokens that allow us to read your analytics data. These grant read-only access and can be revoked by you at any time.
• Chat history: Questions you ask through our "Ask Anything" feature, along with the AI-generated responses, to maintain conversation context.
• Payment information: Processed and stored by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Waitlist submissions: Email addresses submitted through our waitlist form, processed by Formspree.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve our service:

• Generate AI-powered analytics briefings and insights for you
• Detect anomalies in your website traffic and alert you
• Answer your questions about your analytics data
• Send you weekly briefing emails and critical alerts
• Monitor service health and fix issues

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not display ads in our product.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate:

• Google Analytics APIs: To read your analytics data (read-only access via OAuth).
• Anthropic (Claude API): To generate natural-language insights from your aggregated data. Only pre-processed, aggregated metrics are sent — never raw visitor data.
• Microsoft Azure: Cloud hosting and database infrastructure, hosted in the US.
• Stripe: Payment processing.
• SendGrid: Transactional and briefing email delivery.
• Formspree: Waitlist form submissions.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Azure SQL Database with encryption at rest and in transit. OAuth tokens are encrypted before storage. All connections to our service use HTTPS/TLS. We follow industry-standard security practices including regular backups, access controls, and monitoring.

5. Data Retention

We retain your analytics snapshots for as long as your account is active, to enable trend analysis and historical comparisons. Chat history is retained for the last 20 messages per property to maintain conversation context. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Delete: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Revoke access: Disconnect your analytics platforms at any time, which immediately stops data syncing. You can also revoke our OAuth access directly from your Google Account settings.
• Export: Download your briefing history and analytics snapshots.
• Correct: Update your account information at any time.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics on our own site.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or a prominent notice in our product. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
